Robert Pattinson will be enveloped in the presence of three of Hollywood’s finest actresses for the upcoming film adaptation of Guy de Maupassant’s “Bel Ami”. Captivating beauties Uma Thurman, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Christina Ricci have all confirmed to work on the project together with Pattinson and co-directors Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod.
The film takes audience into the life of the womanizing and manipulative Georges Duroy (Pattinson) who manages to rise from an insignificant military position into one of Paris’ most powerful men. Thurman is cast as his love interest, Madeleine Forestier who was first the wife of his army friend Charles (Philip Glenister). Later on, he eventually marries her as well.
Meanwhile, Ricci is the hot Clotilde, Duroy’s future conquest while Thomas will play the wife of a newspaper owner whose articles helped make Duroy famous, Virginie.
Currently, “Bel Ami” has already begun filming both in London and Budapest. Aside from the already mentioned stars, there would also be performances from Holly Grainger and Colm Meaney.
Early as this, the European Film Market in Berlin is already looking forward to the film set to hit theatres later on 2011. So far no word has yet been released on a North American distributor.
