Anna Faris would be invading a new genre of comedy as she has booked not one but an additional two romantic comedies set for production next year. With her wide experience and innate talent in comedies, Faris is perfect to bring comedic life to an interesting love story. At present, she’s earned roles on a long lineup of films including lending her voice to this year’s animations “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs” and “Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel”. She’s also attached to film next year for “Young Americans”, the fifth “Scary Movie” and a role in the live-action / CGI “Yogi Bear”.
The first romantic comedy she’s cast in is Disney’s Touchstone label film, “Wedding Banned”, where Faris would be portraying the daughter of Robin Williams. The plot would center on Williams and his long-divorced wife teaming up to kidnap their daughter to prevent her from getting married. In the process the two would be rekindling their relationship as they evade an angry groom and cops. Taking over production for the film are David Hoberman of “The Proposal” and Todd Lieberman of “Wild Hogs” but no director is on board yet to complete the crew.
Faris second project is a romantic comedy created for her and Ryan Reynolds specifically to star in. Universal’s “TMI” revolves on the premise that honesty is not always the best thing in a relationship especially when you give off “too much information”. Aside from starring, Ryan Reynolds will also hold position as executive producer for the film.
