Back in August the much awaited first trailer of “Avatar” hit screens with mixed reviews and disappointed fans. However after much buzz and another two month wait, James Cameron’s “Avatar” redeems itself with its new, longer trailer. When the first trailer came out in August, it garnered the attention of fans with a record of 4 million streams in its first day earning the title of most downloaded trailer in Apple.com. However fans were met with disappointment as the first one spanned only a little more than two minutes with no dialogues and missing worthy sneak peeks. The film redeems itself with its fresh trailer that debuted in theaters last Friday (October 23) and arrived online last Thursday (October 29).
The three-and-a-half minute trailer heightens the hype as it reveals snippets of interesting dialogues and amazing CGI. It resembles a mini-movie wherein you get the entire feel of the film despite not being a huge fan or haven’t watched “Avatar” at all. The trailer throws light on the back story, which was hardly revealed on the first trailer, with spectacular special-effect shots and ground-breaking visual effects.
With two more months left before the film hits theaters, Fox goes heavy on marketing to earn huge success from the film. The trailer was given special attention as it was provided with the largest viewing history on the new Cowboy Stadium’s giant HD screen – the biggest in the world according to Guinness. During the Dallas Cowboys / Seattle Seahawks game held on a Sunday, the trailer was screened in front of a massive 80,000 crowd along with millions of viewers watching the broadcast from their television sets.
The film also announces it new official website, a link to a twitter feed and information on merchandise and games. “Avatar” stars Sam Worthington in the lead role as ex-marine Jake along with Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Lola Herrera and Joel David Moore. Set to release on December 18, it will take viewers to the planet Pandora to witness the battle between the human race and the native Na’vis for the fate of the entire world.
