Legendary action star Dennis Hopper, the iconic face known for films such as “Easy Rider”, “Blue Velvet”, and “Apocalypse Now” is slowly losing his battle with prostate cancer. Back in October, the actor revealed the great challenge he is currently facing with the knowledge of his grave illness. The unexpected health deterioration began with “severe flu-like symptoms” which led to the actor’s hospital admission.
News of the World reports that when Hopper discovered his illness, he immediately sought treatment at the University of Southern California. However he was met with utter disappointment when doctors admit that the chance of survival for the 73-year-old actor is slim with the cancer quickly spreading to his bones. After almost 7 years fighting against the disease since 2002, medics inform Hopper that the cancer is no longer curable and his last days are drawing near.
In relation to the devastating news, the actor had reportedly begun bidding his closest friends, family, and loved ones goodbye after he completed shooting for his US TV show “Crash”. Currently the actor is married to his fifth wife, Victoria Duffy to whom he has a young six-year-old daughter.
