September is the beginning for the release of fall movies, ending summer with a flourish. Of coruse, this is Oscar season so movies are beginning to get prepped up with eye-popping visuals, dramathons, and exciting action sequences.
Here’s a list of movies set for release this week in September:
September 9th
9
“9″ is an expanded adaptation of Shane Acker’s short film of the same name. The action-packed story focuses in a world parallel to our own, in which the very legacy of humanity is threatened. A community living a post-apocalyptic existence find one of their own, 9 is Elijah Wood, harnessing qualities that may help all of them to survive.
September 11th
Sorority Row
“Sorority Row” centers on a group of sorority sisters trying to cover up the death of their house-sister after a prank gone wrong. Only there is a serial killer on the loose and began creepily stalking them.
Whiteout
The storyline focuses on Carrie Stetko, a U.S. Marshal assigned to Antarctica. She is investigating the continent’s first murder, which lures her into an outrageous mystery. Now, with only three days until winter, Carrie must solve the crime before Antarctica is pitched into shadows and she is stranded with the killer.
September 18th
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs
Based on Ron and Judi Barrett’s book, this is a timeless tale which illustrates a world where giant pancakes and pasta fall from the sky as a scientist attempts to solve world hunger. As usual, things go terribly wrong when a surfeit of food overload the cities and towns.
Jennifer’s Body
“Jennifer’s Body” tells the frightening tale of a sexy cheerleader possessed by a demon and starts feeding off the boys in a small Minnesota farming town. Her best friend must kill her but first escape from rehab to go after the Satan-worshipping rock band responsible for the terrifying transformation.
September 25th
Coco Before Chanel
“Coco Before Chanel” is the story of celebrated Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, who began her life as an orphan. Through sheer will and determination, she became the legendary couturier who embodied the modern woman and became a timeless symbol of success, freedom and style.
Surrogates
When the first murder in years have taken place in a supposedly crime-free town where robots are deemed as surrogates, FBI agent Greer played by Bruce Willis learns a great conspiracy behind the surrogate phenomenon. He must abandon his own surrogate, risking his life to unravel the shocking mystery.
