Jack and Jill Starring Adam Sandler

Drag is the flavor of the month for Hollywood’s leading men as Adam Sandler follows the footsteps of Ryan Reynolds by accepting to star in the new romantic comedy “Jack and Jill”. Reynolds had previously committed to star as a man trying to pass off as a woman to regain his girlfriend back in an untitled Universal comedy. Sandler on the other hand, would be portraying both Jack and twin sister Jill in the upcoming romantic comedy. The romantic aspect of the plot is yet unknown.

Sandler is known for his bizarre choice of roles and prefers to stay with his forte, comedy by starring in hits “Click”, “Bruce Almighty”, and “Happy Gilmore” among the list. He also appears in a more serious tone by satisfying fans in romantic comedies such as “The Wedding Singer” and “50 First Dates”.  For his new film, Sandler is not new to dressing up drag. On Saturday Night Live, he appeared in drag in the recurring skit “Gap Girls”.

Todd Garner in collaboration with Sandler’s own Happy Madison Productions will produce with partner Jack Giarraputo. Screenplay is by former Saturday Night Live’s writer Steve Koren with filming scheduled to begin early next year for a 2011 release under Sony.

As for lead Sandler, he would be returning to the big screen next summer for another comedy “Grown Ups” with actors Chris Rock, Kevin James, David Spade, and Rob Schneider.
