Taking three roles in the comedy series “Office” as an actress, writer, and executive producer, Mindy Kaling together with writer, producer and director for the series Ben Forrester created a romantic comedy flick to hit the big screen. The duo’s latest written screenplay “The Low Self Esteem of Lizzie Gillespie” will be produced under the creative production crew responsible for the worldwide hit “Juno”.
Mandate Pictures together with Mr. Mudd and John Malkovich’s production company who took care of the works for the $230 million grossing film “Juno” would be joining forces once more to bring to life “The Low Self Esteem of Lizzie Gillespie”.
The movie focuses on the tale of a woman whose dating life had been greatly affected by her low self-esteem leading her to head out with a bunch of losers. By chance of luck, her destiny changes as a hot dude falls head-over-heels for her. Kailing would take a supporting role in the film.
In the “Office” Kailing’s character was known to be goofy, blunt, and inappropriately reveals too much of her personal information in the workplace. This trademark behavior and recklessness is hopefully passed on the lead role “Lizzie”.
Aside from appearing on the “Office”, Kaling’s works include directing the show’s “Subtle Sexuality” webisodes and signing on with NBC for her upcoming own comedy. Forrester meanwhile who’s done “The Simpsons” and “King of the Hill” is also busy working out his own pilot for Fox.
