Miley Cyrus sits down with Nicole Biggins and Ryan Sampson for an exclusive interview on Sirius XM’s The Morning Mash Up. Aside from discussing her tour plan for the upcoming weeks, her celebration-less birthday, a tour in Europe, and her new movie “The Last Song”, Cyrus touches down on the issue of her feelings on “The Twilight Saga”.
Fans would be devastated to her that the Disney star believes “I think it’s like [a] cult… I think it’s a cult. I think it’s bad. I think it’s like, just people get too into it.” She even contrasts the movie fandom into the hype for supermodels saying, “For me, I think it’s like when guys look at supermodels and they’re like, ‘That’s the perfect girl,’ … That’s what those kind of movies do to us. They’re like thinking that’s what girls should be like and not everyone is going to be Edward, hate to say it.”
She even agrees that “The Twilight Saga” resident heartthrob does not suit the sexiest man alive category. “Johnny Depp is way hotter than Robert Pattinson, for sure,” Cyrus said. When asked who she thinks aside from Depp deserves the title, she doesn’t think twice saying, “There’s not many things about me that are like a normal teenage girl. But the one like normal teenage girl thing is that I think Zac Efron is the hottest person in the world. I really, really like him. And it’s weird… it’s weird because he’s my friend. I think also the reason that he is so sexy is because he and Vanessa [Hudgens] have been together since the first ‘High School Musical’ and… I think that’s really cool.”
Though the pop star has a fascination for the young heartthrob of “High School Musical” she clarifies she’s not the ga-ga type of fan girl. “No, I’m pretty cool,” she jokingly replies. “I’m pretty much the coolest person ever… no, I’m pretty cool. I’m pretty much the coolest person ever.”
I’m afraid Twihards won’t be too happy to hear her statement about the much-loved “Twilight” phenomenon. Miley may just have lost followers to her own fan base.
