Sex in the City 2 already has a lot of star power, but the sequel to the 2007 hit just keeps on adding more.
Penelope Cruz, Oscar winner and Goddess, has just joined the fabulous four ladies of Sex and the City; Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon. Although previous reports stated that Penelope would be playing herself in the movie, she won’t be. According to PEOPLE, the beauty will be playing a glam banker with a Spanish accent, and could be a big part of Mr. Big’s (Chris Noth), life.
Earlier this week, she was spotted at New York’s Empire Hotel filming a scene where her character gets a little too up close and personal with Carrie Bradshaw’s (SJP) “Mr. Big”.
Although the plot of ‘Sex’ has been kept quiet, the main story will revolve around Carrie and Big’s adjustment to married life, and the temptations that can threaten their vows. Charlotte (Davis) will be coping with motherhood and her paranoia that her husband is having an affair. Miranda (Nixon), is making a career change after she is sued for malpractice, while the cougar herself, Samantha (Cattrall), could possibly tie the knot with her ex-beau Smith (Jason Lewis). Definitely NOT a Samantha move.
Could Cruz’s character possibly steal the love of Carrie’s life and fairy-tale happy ending? OR could Mr. Big prove to actually be ‘big’ and stay faithful to his wife? Is Samantha seriously getting married? We’ll all find out May 15, 2010. Until then, all we can do is ask questions!
