John Malkovich returns to what he does best, appearing in movies as the bad guy infused with his innate charisma. Reports have recently emerged that Malkovich is close to signing on as the villain, the Vulture, in the upcoming “Spider-Man 4”. His character the evil Vulture has his trademark high-flying wings also aptly used as a cutting weapon.
This may just be the break Malkovich needs after his groundbreaking performance as evil guy Mitch Leary in “In the Line of Fire” and Valmont in “Dangerous Liaisons”. Previously his fans were disappointed with his boring role as a sympathetic preacher in “Changeling”.
Another actress being courted to play another villain in “Spider-Man 4” is Anne Hathaway. When she agrees to be part of the film, she’d be taking on the role of Felicia Hardy, more popularly known as the Black Cat in comic books. However sources say that in the film version, her villain character would instead be the Vulturess. Further details about this new villain are currently unknown.
Avid fans are also hoping that the confirmed return of actor Dylan Baker for the film as Peter Parker’s Professor Curt Connors would signal the possible rise of villain the Lizard. However as of present, this is yet to be confirmed.
