Fans of Rambo would be surprised to hear change of plans for the upcoming “Rambo V” film as John Rambo would trudge on unfamiliar territory. Recently Sylvester Stallone sent an email to his fan site StalloneZone.com announcing a shift of direction for the movie. Originally the film was to be patterned after the book by James Byron Huggins, “The Hunter”. The plot focused on taking out the product of a medical experiment, an ultra-violent half-man/half-animal. Though the storyline from Huggins’ book would still serve a purpose for the movie, Stallone would be honing in on a good ol’ fashioned border war. Here is the official letter he sent to the fan site saying:
To all the loyal SZoners out there,
I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead. RAMBO himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished.
There will be blood.
Best,
Sly Stallone
However despite the details, Stallone maintains the mystery of his upcoming film as he fails to disclose the location of the film. Among the few suspected and anticipated venues based from the screenplay are: Israel/Palestine, France/Spain, Pakistan/Afghanistan, Ecuador/Columbia, and Russia/Latvia.
Viewers would have to wait for official news on the desired setting for “Rambo V”. Filming is schedule to begin this spring.
