Weekend Box Office: ‘Princess’ ‘Blind Sides’ Its Way to the Top

Disney’s animated feature for the holidays “The Princess and the Frog” hits the top of the chart for its opening weekend in December. The film breaks the record of previous animation champion 1996 “Beavis & Butt-Head Do America” by more than $5 million. Coming in at second is Sandra Bullock’s inspirational sport drama “The Blind Side” with a steady $15 million totaling to an estimated $150 million in box-office. Previously for four straight weeks, the film has finished at the first or second spot for the weekend box-office.

Following closely at third is Clint Eastwood’s drama on Nelson Mandela and the South African rugby team in “Invictus” with $10 million.

The Twilight Saga: New Moon” meanwhile continues to drop at fourth with $7.5 million. However since its release in November 20, the film has earned a gross total of nearly $270 million.
